Some bisexuals are flirty, some are polyamorous and have committed relationships outside a monogomous context, some cheat on their partners have issues with commitment, some are mainly attracted to one gender and wouldn’t consider having a serious romantic relationship with anyone who wasn’t that gender.
Bisexuals like that exist. That is not in dispute. But why do people think that other kinds of bisexuals don’t exist?
Bisexuals that are shy and have trouble talking to someone they like, bisexuals who aren’t socially adept and have issues talking to anyone full stop, bisexuals who present as gay or straight because they’re afraid of people not believing them if they say they’re bi, bisexuals who don’t make jokes about their sexuality because it isn’t something that they feel comfortable laughing off when that’s what everyone else does?
I guess I’m just tired of only seeing “lol, bisexuality” representation in popular media. From Brittany to River Song to Captain Jack*, it’s all a fucking joke. A big flirty promiscuous Carry On joke.
